Description

The Crescent City Cafe currently hosts a free, volunteer led, restaurant-style breakfast twice a month for homeless and low-income guests.

Everything you need to know about volunteering:
*You MUST be at least 18 years old to volunteer*
*Wear closed-toe shoes*
- Arrive at 7:00 a.m. SHARP at Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church at 3900 St. Charles Ave. (70115).
- Enter through the back doors, behind the church on Pitt St. (Side streets: Constantinople and Gen. Taylor)
- When you arrive: sign up to volunteer in the kitchen or in the front-of-house. Volunteer positions are first-come-first-serve. More info on volunteer positions below (“What to Expect”)
- What to expect in the kitchen: Fast paced environment where cooks prepare all the delicious elaborate dishes for our guests. And we couldn’t do it without our dishwashers, who clean up during and after breakfast.
- What to expect in the front-of-house: Servers welcome and take orders from guests, just like a real restaurant. Bussers help the servers set, serve, and clear the tables so we can seat more guests. Hosts control the flow of guests and direct guests to their tables.
