YLCoastal Presents Discover the Delta

YLC members can enjoy a unique opportunity to explore the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MGRO) and our wetlands and see our surge barrier in YLCoastal's Discover the Delta.  In a half-day session, participants will begin their journey at the Bayou Bienvenue Wetland Platform in the 9th Ward. They will then caravan to the BAIT, Inc. where they will join Captain PJ on his oyster boat for an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at coastal erosion, restoration, and preservation along the Mississippi River.

Space is limited to 8 YLC members/Friends of YLC per boating excursive to ensure best public health and safety practices.  Tickets are Free for YLC Members and $20 for Friends of YLC.

When registering, you will be asked to select an AM or PM session to reserve your spot.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Morning: 

• 8:30 AM – Meet at the Bayou Bienvenue Wetland Platform
  • Introductions, background, and orientation
• 9:30 AM- Leave for the marina
• 10:00 AM – Board the boat
  • See Surge Barrier, MRGO, etc
• 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM -  Return to the marina

Afternoon: 

• 1:00 PM – Meet at the Bayou Bienvenue Wetland Platform
  • Introductions, background, and orientation
• 1:30 PM- Leave for the marina
• 2:00 PM – Board the boat
  • See Surge Barrier, MRGO, etc
• 4:00 - 4:30 PM -  Return to the marina
