Location

Docville Farm
5124 E St Bernard Hwy

Description

YLCoastal invites you to visit the beautiful Docville Farm in Violet, Louisiana. As stewards of the land in St. Bernard Parish, the work at Docville Farm is essential to coastal restoration and the regeneration of Louisiana's wetlands. Blaise Pezold, Meraux Foundation’s Coastal and Environmental Program Director says,  “Our coasts and marshes are not just critical environmental concerns, they’re an incredibly important part of who we are culturally and economically,” said Pezold. “Lose them, and we lose so much more along with them.”

In this event, attendees will:

  • Experience exclusive access and insight into the work that the Meraux Foundation and Docville Farms do to combat coastal erosion and wetland regeneration.
  • Visit the Arlene Meraux River Observation Center and network with their fellow YLC members of wine and beer while witnessing the activities of the Mississippi River from new heights
  • Tour the farm and greenhouse, where they will learn how Docville Farm is responsible for cultivating and growing the plants necessary for its coastal restoration work.

Space is limited, and YLC and the Meraux Foundation will implement best public health practices for the safety of our guests.

Tickets for YLC Members are $5, and Friends of YLC are $10.  Tickets include 2 glasses of wine or beer, water and soft drinks, as well as light bites.
