Description

Join us for the first event of our Role Model Program Series featuring Dr. Shannon Blady!

Dr. Blady is the Chief Learning Officer at The Louisiana Children's Museum (LCM). She leads the education department in designing and planning all museum and outreach programming. She is an award-winning educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching and leading teachers. We will kick off the events with some lite bites and networking before Dr. Blady guides guests through the exhibits and activations to provide detailed explanations of the research and reasoning behind each space.

The Louisiana Children's Museum has served the greater New Orleans community and beyond for thirty-eight years. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to childhood education, the museum’s exhibits and programs provide children, and their caregivers, with the tools they need to see and achieve their capacity as young citizens of the world. Throughout LCM’s five galleries, children explore interactive exhibits highlighting our region's unique culture and environment through four impact areas: Arts and Culture, Health and Wellness, Sustainability, and Early Learning and Literacy. Throughout her leadership roles over the past 10 years, Dr. Blady has demonstrated a strong commitment to issues of access and equity. As a proud sixth-generation New Orleanian and former New Orleans Public Schools student, teacher, and parent, Dr. Blady is committed to ensuring that all children in New Orleans receive a high-quality, well-rounded education infused with joy.
